HTML stands  for Hyper Text Markup Language,which is the most widely used to develop web pages and web application.

Now,HTML is being widely used all over the world to format web pages with the help of different tags which we will learn later.

History of HTML

HTML was created by a british computer scientist sir Tim berners lee in late 1991 but HTML 2.0 was the first standard gtml specification which was published in 1995..

HTML 4.0 was the major version of html and it was published in late1999..But now we are having html 5..
